1994-2003

Bandana Canyon was created as Adrienne’s personal consortium for many dog related projects the first of which was a K-9 hiking club, and then her all weather dog walking service followed by her pet sitting service with over 300 clients in Marin County, CA.

2001-2003

Adrienne is also responsible for getting the 3 dog leash law passed so that all the wildlife, pedestrians, equestrians, and dogs alike are safe to hike the trails of Marin. It took 2 years of city council meetings in 6 different cities and much educating the public as greedy “professional” dog walkers were taking a dozen dogs at a time and just letting their charges run wild- get into fights and chase wildlife as they chattered on their cell phones not to mention letting the dogs ride in open pick up trucks or crammed into vans.

2003-2006

In 2003 after moving to Mt. Shasta, CA Adrienne created an on- line store featuring Bandana Canyon holistic k-9 cookies (her own secret recipe) sold at fundraisers for several Humane and Rescue operations through out the US. and Canada until 2006 .

2005

Dog-Sled Races

In 2005 Adrienne fundraised for the bi-annual ARROWHEAD 2 day sled dog races, California’s only long distance(135 miles) sled dog racing event held in Mt. Shasta, CA with sled teams from all over the country participating to support local search and rescue efforts.

2006-present

Rescue Operations

Most recently Adrienne organized and co-ordinated a Rescue Operation for 96 dogs confiscated from an abusive collector/hoarder and has independently transported 100’s of other animals from shelter to shelter where they would have more exposure and a better chance of being adopted all throughout the Northwest. 91 of the 96 were adopted over a 14 month period.

In addition Adrienne has networked with countless animal control agencies to report and stop animal abuse and neglect by collectors and hoarders which affects 250,000 animals in the U.S. with 7000 (reported) new cases each year and has helped to re-house many of these animals.

2007

H.A.R.T

In 2007 Adrienne founded H.A.R.T. (Homeless Animals Rehab Team) which is an on going foster home organization for dogs who have been so stressed by their original homes that even a shelter atmosphere proves to be too much stimulation and detrimental to their overall health. Foster homes provide a quieter place for healing until these dogs are ready for adoption and usually this takes a minimum of three months.

Adrienne organized , managed, and supervised many dedicated and great volunteers recruited from various Humane Societies as well as arranging veterinary support where needed often in remote areas where many hoarders ‘hide’ their collections.

This support included needed vaccines so the animals could travel to adoption sites as well as setting up vital appointments for spay and neutering often hundreds of miles from where the animals were found.

2008- February- August

Best Friend’s Animal Society, Kanab Utah

This sanctuary captured Adrienne’s heart for several months..and where Lizzie and Adrienne moved to do some of “the work”..volunteering and learning how best to be a dog-care giver with multiples of 30-60 dogs at a time( of many different breeds) and new dogs being added on any given day in all kinds of weather and situations leading to many adoptions.

Adrienne is writing as well as self publishing a book entitled “96 DOGS “ about her experiences in the area of rescuing abused and neglected dogs from animal hoarding in hopes of educating more people. See the segment entitled Dog Jail on next page.
